Charles Russell Speechlys’ Research & Information Services Team wins BIALL Lexis Nexis Award for Excellence 2026
min readThe British & Irish Association of Law Librarians has presented Charles Russell Speechlys' Research & Information Services team with the Lexis Nexis Award for Excellence 2026.
This award recognises our Research Team's excellence in supporting colleagues across the Firm with legal research, horizon scanning and information management. The team was recognised for excellence in a range of initiatives, including firmwide training on the use of generative AI for legal research, and the rollout of Vable, a content management service for horizon scanning which supports our thought leadership initiatives.
The LexisNexis Awards for Excellence have been awarded by BIALL since 2007. They celebrate legal information services teams for delivering outstanding service and dedicated performance. The adjudication panel evaluated nominees based on criteria including how they added value within their organisation, how they contributed to the wider legal information profession and how they demonstrated best practice.
The Award Committee which adjudicated on the nominations includes members of the BIALL Awards & Bursaries Committee and LexisNexis representatives.

We are delighted to be recognised with this award, which is testament to the team's work supporting legal research and information management across the Firm, acting as the first port of call when support or advice is required.
As a team, we have been focused on applying technological solutions to help modernise our services for the benefit of the business, freeing up time and improving efficiency. This has allowed us to spend more time collaborating with our lawyers and teams across the Firm to understand their information needs and create tailor-made solutions.
