Charles Russell Speechlys advises Invictus Investment Partners Limited on SFC licensing, SMA appointment and fund launch

min read

Charles Russell Speechlys has advised Invictus Investment Partners Limited on a comprehensive mandate spanning its application to the Securities and Futures Commission for a Type 9 (asset management) licence, a separately managed account (“SMA”) arrangement, and the establishment of an open-ended Cayman Islands master-feeder fund adopting an equity long-short strategy focused on Japanese listed equities.

The continuity of this engagement, from licensing, SMA and through to fund launch, underscores the depth and breadth of our integrated offering across compliance, regulatory, US tax and investment funds work, and our unique ability to support new managers throughout every stage of their growth journey.

Gaven Cheong, Partner in the Financial Services Regulation & Funds team at Charles Russell Speechlys, comments:

We are thrilled to have supported IIP from licensing through to fund launch. Our team’s ability to deliver seamlessly across compliance, regulatory and investment funds work was critical to achieving this successful outcome. Working closely across our Hong Kong and Singapore offices and our asset management, regulatory and tax teams, we were able to demonstrate our capability to partner efficiently with the client and to deliver a seamless multi-disciplinary service offering. We look forward to continuing to support our client as they grow their platform.

The Charles Russell Speechlys team was led by Hong Kong-based Financial Services Regulation & Funds Partner Gaven Cheong, supported by Associate Didi Chan, together with Singapore-based US Corporate Tax Partner Timmoney Ng.
