Charles Russell Speechlys appoints First Corporate Tax Partner in Milan

min read

Charles Russell Speechlys today announces the appointment of Paolo Rampulla as the first Corporate Tax Partner in the Firm’s Milan office.

Paolo joins from Italian law firm ADVANT NCTM where he was a Partner for the past 23 years. He will establish and lead the Firm’s Italian corporate tax capabilities, which dovetails with our existing firmwide Corporate practice.

Paolo is an experienced Italian corporate tax specialist, advising on domestic and international tax matters across M&A, private equity and financing transactions, corporate reorganisations and transfer pricing. His work regularly supports cross‑border matters involving corporates, investors and business owners.

Michael Lingens, Regional Lead for Continental Europe, commented:

Paolo’s arrival is a strategic addition to our European and global Private Capital offering. His experience supporting high‑value transactions aligns with our ambition to deepen our tax capability in support of private equity, family offices and internationally mobile capital. This appointment strengthens our ability to deliver joined up tax advice across jurisdictions and reinforces Milan’s role as a key European hub within our international platform.

Nicola Saccardo, Partner and Head of the Firm’s Italian practice, added:

This appointment reflects the continued development of our Milan office as a key European hub. Since launch, the office has grown steadily, with increasing collaboration across practices and jurisdictions. Paolo will set up and lead our corporate tax capability locally, enabling closer day‑to‑day collaboration with colleagues across Europe and supporting the expansion of the Milan tax team as client demand grows.

Paolo Rampulla said:

I am delighted to be joining the Firm at such an exciting time for its growth in Italy and across Europe. Milan continues to attract internationally mobile businesses, bringing with it a growing need for sophisticated tax advice. The Firm has made a clear commitment to the Italian market, and I am excited to be joining a team that combines deep local expertise with a genuinely international perspective. I look forward to helping clients navigate change, manage risk and seize opportunities in Italy and beyond.

Alongside Paolo’s appointment, the Firm has also appointed Raffaella Piraccini as Counsel in Milan, specialising in corporate tax. Raffaella joins from Spada Partners where she was a Senior Tax Counsel since 2022.

Her areas of expertise include tax consulting to multinational companies and groups, international taxation, and M&A, as well as the drafting of requests for rulings. She developed a significant experience with companies working in the healthcare and industrial sectors. Another senior tax litigation specialist will also join the Italian practice shortly after.

The Firm opened an office in Milan in November 2024, bolstering it with the appointment of Partner Annapaola Negri-Clementi and her team in October 2025. The Milan team moved into their new offices at via Borgogna 8 on 12 May.

Paolo is the latest of a string of Partner hires across Europe at the Firm this year, including Luca Beffa in the Arbitration team and Frédéric Ney in the Tax team in Geneva, and Marguerite Brac de La Perrière as the first-ever IT, Data and AI Partner in Paris, reflecting the Firm’s continued investment across its European offices.
