Charles Russell Speechlys appoints new Paris office head

min read

Charles Russell Speechlys today announces the appointment of Partner Thibaut Caharel as the new Head of its Paris Office, effective from 1 May 2026. Thibaut will succeed Partner Frédéric Jeannin in the role, who has led the Paris office since 2013. Frédéric led the Paris office through a strong period of consistent growth. As of 1 May 2026, the Paris office will count 39 lawyers, including 15 Partners.

Thibaut has been at the Firm since day one of the Paris office opening and serves as Partner in the Firm’s Corporate practice. Day-to-day, he advises financial investors and management teams on leveraged buyouts transactions, growth capital, disposal, and assists industrial groups with their internal reorganizations and acquisitions, as well as asset disposals. He also has experience in reorganisation of corporate groups and in establishing joint ventures and commercial partnerships.

Simon Ridpath, Global Managing Partner at Charles Russell Speechlys, said:

Frédéric has played a pivotal role in the development and success of our Paris office, and I would like to thank him sincerely for his leadership, commitment and contribution to the firm. Under his guidance, the Paris team has gone from strength to strength, and we are very grateful for the foundations he has helped to build.

We are delighted to welcome Thibaut as Head of our Paris office. He brings deep experience, strong client relationships and a clear vision for the future, and I am confident he will continue to drive the office forward and further strengthen our offering in France and across our international network.

Thibaut Caharel, Partner and Head of the Paris office, added:

Firstly, I’m grateful to the Partners for trusting me with this responsibility, and particularly to Frédéric for the excellent leadership he has shown over the last 13 years.

It is a privilege to lead our Paris office and to build on the strong foundations already in place. We have an exceptional team here that we still want to expand, and we’re excited to further collaborate with our international colleagues to support our clients with seamless, cross border advice.

This year, the Paris office welcomed its first IT, Data and AI Partner, Marguerite Brac de La Perrière and promoted three lawyers to the Partnership in its biggest promotion round in several years.
