Charles Russell Speechlys advises Chainwave Capital Management Limited on the launch of the Chainwave Offshore Feeder SPC

min read

Charles Russell Speechlys has advised Chainwave Capital Management Limited on the establishment of Chainwave Offshore Feeder SPC (the “Feeder Fund”) and its corresponding master fund, Chainwave Master Fund SPC (the “Master Fund”, together with the Feeder Fund, the “Fund”), as well as their respective initial segregated portfolios, being Chainwave Offshore Feeder Fund of Funds SP (the “Chainwave Fund”) and Chainwave Master Fund Fund of Funds SP (the “Segregated Portfolio”).

The Fund is structured as a master-feeder structure, with each of the Feeder Fund and the Master Fund incorporated as exempted companies with limited liability and registered as segregated portfolio companies under the laws of the Cayman Islands.

The Segregated Portfolio seeks to provide investors with diversified, risk-adjusted exposure to the virtual assets ecosystem by allocating capital to a portfolio of institutional-quality, quantitatively driven underlying funds, being regulated or unregulated structures that focus on cryptocurrencies and other virtual assets using different investment strategies.

Chainwave Capital Management Limited, the Manager of the Fund, was incorporated in the British Virgin Islands and is an Approved Manager under the Investment Business (Approved Managers) Regulations, 2012 of the British Virgin Islands.

The Charles Russell Speechlys team, acting as Lead International Counsel to the Manager, was led by Hong Kong-based Financial Services Regulation & Funds Partner Gaven Cheong, supported by Associate Didi Chan.
