Charles Russell Speechlys advises Talon Asset Management Limited on the creation of entertainment industry-focused fund

min read

Charles Russell Speechlys advised Talon Asset Management Limited on the establishment of Talon Creative Equity Fund LP (the "Fund"), a private equity and venture capital fund with a focus on the film and entertainment industry, in particular, Hollywood productions.

The Fund will deploy capital across equity (including in film production and entertainment related businesses – for example, merchandise production), debt and physical film production infrastructure (including real estate and studio space) to deliver a diversified portfolio with balanced risk and return.

The Fund's key portfolio manager, Mr Steven Demmler, is an entrepreneur, producer/writer and one of Variety Magazine's "New Leaders in Hollywood" for 2024. Mr Demmler has produced numerous projects that premiered at film festivals such as Cannes, Sundance and Fantasia.

The Charles Russell Speechlys team advising Talon Asset Management Limited was led by Hong Kong-based Financial Services Regulation and Funds Partner Gaven Cheong, supported by Associate Didi Chan and Trainee Ariel Lok. The team was further supported by Singapore-based Corporate Tax and Private Client Partner Timmoney Ng, who provided US tax advice.
