min read

Charles Russell Speechlys advised SkyPower Global on the sale of SkyPower Services MENA to Inox Clean Energy (Inox), part of the INOXGFL Group and one of India’s leading integrated renewable energy platforms, to launch of a fully integrated renewable energy platform designed to deploy more than 10 gigawatts (GW) of solar-powered infrastructure across Africa.

Dubai-headquartered SkyPower MENA specialises in the development, financing, construction, and operation of utility-scale solar projects, with a development pipeline spanning high-growth markets such as Zambia, Zimbabwe, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Inox has partnered with RJ Corp in a joint venture to develop the Skypower MENA business across multiple African economies. The first phase of deployment targets approximately 570 MW of renewable energy capacity. Longer-term objectives include creating 2.5 GW of installed renewable capacity in Africa by FY29, and aligning with Inox’s broader target of 10 GW Independent Power Producer capacity and 11 GW integrated solar manufacturing capacity by FY28.

The Charles Russell Speechlys team advising SkyPower Global was led by Partner and Head of Corporate in the Middle East Alex Reid and included Senior Associate Sevcan Aydemir (Zurich/Doha, Corporate) and Associate Mo Nawash (Dubai, Corporate).
