min read

Charles Russell Speechlys has advised long standing client Management Refined Limited on the sale of Meganexus Limited to NEC Software Solutions UK (NECSWS), the developers of critical, user-centric software for the public sector.

Meganexus Limited provides secure, AI-enabled software platforms for the public and private sectors, focusing on justice, healthcare, and community services.

This transaction strengthens NECSWS’ portfolio of justice and rehabilitation services used by Ministry of Justice, prisons and probation services. Meganexus will form part of NECSWS’ Digital Studio business unit that provides user-centred case management, service design and innovative software across Justice, Healthcare and Government sectors.

Dr Daniel Brown, Chair of Management Refined, commented:

“The quality of Charles Russell Speechlys’ advice as well as their responsiveness and their desire to build a meaningful relationship with me and the team gave us all complete confidence throughout the sale of the business. The entire CRS team were joined-up, proactive, and genuinely invested in achieving the best possible outcome for both sides and their expertise with respect to Intellectual Property was particularly valuable in the context of this transaction.”

Ashwin Pillay, Corporate Partner, commented:

We were delighted to support Management Refined and Dr Brown on this transformational transaction. Dan and his team’s vision, resilience and commitment made it a pleasure to work with him and them.”

The team was led by Corporate Partner Ashwin Pillay with the support of Corporate Associates Ayman Shehata and Sanne Gerdsen. The wider team included Partners Mark Bailey and Caroline Young (Commercial), Partner Robert Birchall, Senior Associate Tessa Newman and Trainee Magdalena Lewoniec (Corporate Tax) and Partner Emily Chalkley and Associate Amelia McRae (Employment).
