Charles Russell Speechlys further bolsters its Corporate team with the appointment of Ed Morgan

Charles Russell Speechlys today announces the appointment of Ed Morgan to the Firm’s Corporate team, based in London.

Previously a Partner at Fladgate LLP, Ed has specialist expertise in funds and real estate. He brings over two decades of experience to the Firm and is highly regarded for his work with investment funds, indirect real estate structures, joint ventures, management arrangements for property investment and development, investment and restructuring, private M&A and real estate acquisitions and disposals.

Ed has a varied client base ranging across leading asset managers, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals. He has a strong track record delivering complex transactions across the UK and internationally.

Ed’s recent work includes the establishment of major real estate funds, and advising on landmark London properties such as 30 St Mary Axe (the Gherkin), 100 Bishopsgate, and One Hyde Park, as well as the most expensive residential sale in the UK.

David Collins, Partnerwho is responsible for the Firms Business Advisory & Transaction Services Division, which includes the Corporate, Commercial, Banking and Finance, Corporate Tax and Incentives, Financial Services and Funds, Employment and Immigration teams, comments:

Ed is an exciting addition for us and advises clients across many of our sweet spots. He brings a wealth of experience advising asset managers, sovereign wealth funds, pension schemes, private equity managers and high-net-worth individuals, and decades advising in the real estate sector, an area our Firm is well-known for and has been particularly strong in for many years.

"Ed also has a distinct international element to his work, which will be invaluable as we continue to grow across key markets. Ed’s appointment reflects our ongoing commitment to building out our Corporate real estate investment and private funds offerings to clients in line with our international private capital strategy.

Ed Morgan comments:

I am delighted to be joining Charles Russell Speechlys today. The Firm is a real estate heavyweight, making it a great match considering my own experience, and it is also extremely well-regarded in private wealth and private capital. I am confident that joining the Firm will open up a range of opportunities for both my own clients and existing clients of the Firm. It has also clearly been enjoying sustained growth internationally – in particular Asia, Europe and the Middle East – and this makes now a particularly exciting time to join.
