Charles Russell Speechlys enhances International Arbitration presence in Asia with the appointment of Jue Jun Lu in London

Charles Russell Speechlys today announces the appointment of Jue Jun Lu as a Partner in the Commercial Dispute Resolution team in London. With a particular focus on International Arbitration, Jue Jun joins the firm from DLA Piper.

With nearly 15 years’ experience in resolving complex, cross-border commercial disputes, Jue Jun is a highly regarded arbitration specialist with a strong market profile, particularly noted for her expertise in Asia and Chinese-related matters. Jue Jun’s profound understanding of Chinese culture and business, combined with her reputation as the “go to litigator” for clients seeking English law advice, has enabled her to establish an excellent platform for representing international parties in cross-border proceedings against Chinese and Asian opponents.

Jue Jun works with her growing pool of clients across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe to resolve litigation of all sizes, especially complex, high-stake cases involving allegations of dishonesty and fraud, and advises across various industry sectors spanning energy and natural resources, infrastructure, aviation, technology, and financial services. Her recent secondments to a major UK bank and a US oil and gas firm have further enhanced her commercial nous and industry expertise.

As an arbitration specialist, Jue Jun has acted in a large number of arbitration cases seated in London, Paris, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong and Beijing and administered under the rules of all of the major international arbitral institutions (including LCIA, ICC, HKIAC, SIAC, LMAA, and ICSID), as well as in ad hoc proceedings.

Stewart Hey, Partner and Divisional Managing Partner of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution division, adds:

Jue Jun is a very exciting addition to the International Arbitration team and her appointment aligns with our strategic vision for the global Division. Her international expertise will help to connect key regional hubs and unlock more opportunities, further enhancing our strong capabilities across the world in this arena.

Jue Jun Lu, Partner, comments:

Charles Russell Speechlys’ full-service offering, international footprint and private capital strategy will be of significant value to my clients and contacts, particularly given the heightened geopolitical tensions at present. I am keen to work alongside our team’s well respected commercial dispute resolution team to target arbitration and related opportunities emanating from China and Asia (particularly, Hong Kong and Singapore), the UK and Europe, as well as other key regional hubs for international arbitration.

Jue Jun’s appointment coincides with the arrival of Corporate Partners, Francis Li and Wendy Fong, based in the Firm’s Hong Kong office, see here for more information.

Jue Jun speaks English, Mandarin, and Spanish.
