Charles Russell Speechlys advises the majority sellers of Portas Consulting on the sale of the company to a division of Creative Artists Agency

Charles Russell Speechlys has advised the majority sellers of long-standing client, Portas Consulting, on the sale of the company to CAA Sports, a division of Creative Artists Agency, a major LA-headquartered entertainment and sports agency.

This deal will support Portas’ rapid expansion and its mission to create a world leading end-to-end advisory business. By teaming up with CAA, Portas will be uniquely positioned to help shape the future of the global sports industry. Their team of over 160 consultants will join with CAA to allow for widespread growth and diversification. Portas Consulting will rebrand as CAA Portas.

Portas Consulting, a premier global sports management consulting firm founded in 2006, is consistently top ranked within their field and are known for providing a more tailored and specialist service to their clients, compared to other more generalist consultancies on the market.

Keir Gordon, Corporate Partner, commented:

“We were delighted to have worked with Portas Consulting on a deal as significant as this, which highlighted the expertise of our sports team and our Firm-wide collaboration. We look forward to watching Portas expand and grow as they enter an exciting new chapter.”

The team was led by head of the Corporate Sports Group, Keir Gordon, and supported by the Corporate team of Ashwin Pillay, Ayman Shehata, Joseph Fleming and Cassidy Fan. Robert Birchall and Lewis Currie advised on corporate tax and the team also included Jason Saiban, Caroline Young and Charles Mallows (Commercial).
