Charles Russell Speechlys Paris represents Europlasma in its strategic takeover of Fonderie de Bretagne
Dimitri-André Sonier, Partner and Martin Brouard, Associate, both in our Paris Restructuring team, have assisted Europlasma in the presentation and implementation of a successful takeover bid for the business and assets of Fonderie de Bretagne.
Heir to the historic forges of Hennebont created in 1966, Fonderie de Bretagne has come up against headwinds relating to the transition to electric vehicles, as well as from foreign competition and late diversification. This culminated in the company entering receivership at the beginning of this year.
On 25 April 2025, the Rennes Commercial Court approved the plan to sell Fonderie de Bretagne, which will save 266 out of 285 jobs and ensure the site's long-term future and future development through an ambitious investment plan and a diversification project, particularly in the defence sector.
Jérôme Garnache-Creuillot, Europlasma Group’s Chairman and CEO, commented:
I would like to thank Dimitri Sonier and Martin Brouard of Charles Russell Speechlys Paris, whose advice and support greatly contributed to the success of the takeover bid.
