Charles Russell Speechlys advises Country Court Care on its acquisition of assets from Retirement Villages Group

Charles Russell Speechlys’ band 1 ranked healthcare team has advised long-standing client Country Court Care on its acquisition of corporate and real estate assets from Retirement Villages Group, a provider of later living communities across the UK.

Country Court Care has been active for over 40 years as a leading national care home operator, with sites across the UK. Charles Russell Speechlys has acted for Country Court Care for many years.

The deal comprised a mix of corporate and direct real estate acquisitions and was completed in parallel with a refinance of Country Court Care’s facility with Cynergy Bank plc.

This deal highlights the cross-departmental strength of the Charles Russell Speechlys healthcare team, with multiple departments (principally Real Estate, Corporate and Banking & Finance) working seamlessly together to ensure the overall success of the project.

Ishaak Ugradar, Group Legal Counsel of Country Court Care, commented:

“It was a pleasure to work with the Charles Russell Speechlys team again on this deal. Their straightforward guidance through the intricacies of this deal was integral to its success.”

Mark White, Real Estate Partner, commented:

“We are delighted to have worked with Country Court Care on this exciting acquisition, which allowed us to truly showcase the expertise of our market-leading healthcare team and our ability to collaborate across divisions. We look forward to supporting Country Court Care as they continue to expand and grow.”

The team was led by Mark White, who was assisted on the real estate elements by Will Harwood. David Coates and Nathan Lightman led on the corporate elements, supported by Cassidy Fan and Anet Babychan. Daniel Sullivan led on the financing workstreams, assisted by Leigh Stimpson.
