Charles Russell Speechlys advises long standing client AgDevCo on its equity investment in Agris

Charles Russell Speechlys has advised longstanding client AgDevCo, a specialist impact investor, on its equity investment in East African agri-business platform, Agris.

This equity investment involved AgDevCo acquiring a significant minority position in Agris, the agriculture division of Maris Ltd. The investment will help Agris to deploy innovative agribusiness practices, supporting the acceleration of East Africa’s integration into global food systems and allowing African producers to play a larger role in global food security.

Melissa Manzo, General Counsel, AgDevCo, commented:

“We are delighted to have worked with Adrian, Matthew and Noah on this investment. The continued support of the CRS team has been invaluable in helping us achieve our mission to execute high impact investments which foster sustainable growth and development in the region.”

Adrian Mayer, Corporate Partner, commented:

“As usual, it was a pleasure working with Melissa, Charlotte and Christine at AgDevCo. We look forward to seeing the exciting and positive impact this investment will have on the East-African agricultural sector and beyond.”

The team was led by Corporate Partner Adrian Mayer and Senior Associate Matthew Hobbs. The wider team included Associate Noah Ofulue
