Charles Russell Speechlys was delighted to advise Bellway Homes Kent on the purchase of the site, at Mill Lane, Hailsham

Charles Russell Speechlys was delighted to advise Bellway Homes Kent on the purchase of the site, at Mill Lane, Hailsham, from Gladman Developments and its landowner partners, with the benefit of extant outline planning permission for up to 220 dwellings.

Partner Suzi Gatward commented: “We have been acting for Bellway Homes for over 12 years, including on all aspects of the land acquisition process, and we were pleased to advise them on this acquisition that will bring 220 much needed quality homes and fantastic open space to the area”.

Land Director, Dan Merriman from Bellway Homes (Kent) commented: “We were glad to work on this acquisition with our long-time partner Charles Russell Speechlys. Suzi and her team made the transaction seamless, and we benefitted from their commercial and focussed approach.”

The Charles Russell Speechlys team was led by Real Estate Partner Suzi Gatward, with support from Planning Senior Associate Rachael Davidson and Real Estate Associate Will Harwood.

Gladman Developments were represented in-house and the landowners by Shoosmiths and Rix and Kay. It was a collaborative effort from all parties to complete the complex transaction, for which we extend our thanks
