Charles Russell Speechlys partners with the Crafty Counsel community

Founded in 2019 by former lawyer Ben White, Crafty Counsel brings together in-house legal professionals to share their experiences of working in a very diverse range of organisations. The Community is a hub for networking and connecting with peers, and seeing old friends and making new acquaintances at meet-ups and events.

As part of our partnership with Crafty Counsel, Charles Russell Speechlys was proud to co-sponsor their latest dinner for in-house professionals working at High Growth companies and their networking breakfast for ‘Lean Legal’ teams where the in-house team may be small or only have one team member.

Over dinner at the High Growth event Ben White hosted a short Q&A session with Charles Russell Speechlys partners Rebecca Burford and Mark Bailey on some of the key issues we frequently see when working with in-house teams at companies that are raising funding or planning an M&A transaction. They also discussed how regulatory and cybersecurity issues are becoming increasingly important for in-house teams to be aware of.

At the 'Lean Legal' breakfast partner Megan Paul talked to Ben about some of the challenges in-house teams can face when building their team and how  successful collaboration with both internal stakeholders and external counsel can bring real value to their business.

In April we will again partner with Crafty Counsel, co-sponsoring their next High Growth dinner. For more information on how in-house legal professionals can join the Crafty Counsel Community please click here.
