Charles Russell Speechlys Acts for Fast 50 Tech Company, Cloudhouse Technologies in Acquisition of US-based UpGuard Core.
Charles Russell Speechlys has advised Cloudhouse Technologies Ltd on its acquisition of UpGuard Core from US-based third-party risk and attack surface management platform developers, UpGuard Inc.
Cloudhouse, ranked 13th in Deloitte UK Technology’s Fast 50 list of Britain’s fastest-growing technology companies, pioneered application compatibility packaging services when it was founded in 2010 and has demonstrated its mercurial rise to the top by attracting partnerships with household brands such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft.
The company’s acquisition of UpGuard Core brings an added dimension to its application compatibility packaging solution by identifying out-of-date or non-compliant infrastructure, and provides Cloudhouse with a firmer foothold in the US market through the addition of new customers such as Intercontinental Exchange and NASA.
The Charles Russell Speechlys team was led by Corporate Partner, Rebecca Burford and supported by Commercial Partner, Mark Bailey, Commercial Senior Associate, Caroline Young, and Corporate Associate, Pei Li Kew.
Gavin Chapman, Chairman of Cloudhouse, commented: “The team at Charles Russell Speechlys has shown a clear understanding of the fast-paced nature and commercial realities of the tech sector. Their advice has been commercial, timely and thorough, and this deal truly demonstrates their cross-border capabilities. It has been a pleasure to work with Rebecca, in particular, and I look forward to continuing our relationship with Charles Russell Speechlys as Cloudhouse continues to grow and establish new business opportunities.”
Rebecca Burford, Corporate Partner, Charles Russell Speechlys commented: “Gavin and Mat at Cloudhouse have been fantastic to work with and we are delighted to see Cloudhouse go from strength to strength in the tech sector. Technology is one of our sector specialisms and is a key area of focus for our firm – a sector which continues to thrive, given the accelerated demand for digital transformation and connectivity due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
