Charles Russell Speechlys launches as Hong Kong firm and welcomes litigator Ray Ng

Charles Russell Speechlys is launching as a Hong Kong law firm today and welcoming experienced litigator Ray Ng to the team.

After three successful years’ advising on foreign law in Hong Kong as a registered foreign law firm, Charles Russell Speechlys is now a registered Hong Kong firm, additionally able to advise on Hong Kong law.

An important next step in this expansion is the hire of Ray Ng who joins the team from Ogier in Hong Kong where he was Head of Dispute Resolution, Asia.

With over 30 years' experience of handling onshore and offshore disputes in a legal career spanning London, the Caribbean and Asia, Ray enjoys an excellent reputation as "a first class lawyer...lauded by peers and clients for his extensive knowledge and his effectiveness in court" who is "technically strong, very strategic and commercial", "particularly good at thinking outside the box", and "has a particular understanding of the Asian way of looking at things".

A native English speaker, he also speaks Mandarin, Cantonese and Bahasa.

Ray specialises in the resolution of complex high value multi-jurisdictional commercial disputes relating to shareholder rights, directors’ duties, corporate governance, cross-border restructuring and insolvency, trusts and commercial fraud. He is consistently mentioned and ranked in Chambers & Partners and Legal 500.
