Charles Russell Speechlys reconfirms long-term commitment to Hong Kong

After three successful years practising in Hong Kong, Charles Russell Speechlys is taking the next step in its ambitions for its practice in the region by setting up its Hong Kong branch as a Hong Kong firm. The firm will practise both Hong Kong law and the laws of England and Wales under the Charles Russell Speechlys name.

Following the completion of the localisation, the firm’s association with Jonathan Mok Legal will end on 30 November 2020. Jonathan Mok Legal will continue to operate as a separate firm and will continue to pursue its long-term objectives of being a leading firm specialising in family disputes and private client advisory and structuring.

In association with Jonathan Mok Legal, the Hong Kong office has doubled in size since it opened in 2017, growing its Private Wealth focus to include Disputes, Family and Private Client. Thanks to the efforts of the two firms, Jonathan Mok Legal and Charles Russell Speechlys’ Hong Kong office were shortlisted respectively as the “Matrimonial and Family Law Firm of the Year” at the Macallan ALB Hong Kong Law Awards 2019 and “New Asian Office of the Year” at the 2020 Asia Legal Awards.
