min read

As geopolitical uncertainty persists and is slowing prockets of market activity across sectors worldwide, Asia has remained resilient.

In a piece by Asian Legal Business on the impact of the Middle East conflict on Asian markets, Partner Simon Green states that activity levels have remained positive throught the first quarter of 2026, with M&A, IPO and restructuring activity picking up in Hong Kong.

He also noted an increase in family office enquiries across both Singapore and Hong Kong as a way to diversify portfolios as the jurisdictions are viewed as stable economies, offering attractive tax incentives and future business opportunities across China and Southeast Asia.

Simon Green, Partner in our Real Estate team and Head of Asia, comments in Asian Legal Business:

It's not all doom and gloom. Economic turmoil and geopolitical instability create immediate operational challenges, which clients have had contingency plans for. But they also create business opportunities.
