SoGlos interviews Shona Alexander on how best to navigate the divorce process

In an interview with SoGlos, Shona Alexander, Family Partner, discusses navigating the divorce process in a way that prioritises family interests.

For high-net-worth clients, the focus is on managing the transition from one household to two, addressing housing and income needs, and sharing assets.

Prenuptial agreements are increasingly popular, protecting premarital wealth, inherited assets, and gifts, while ensuring shared growth during the marriage. Wealthy parents also encourage these agreements for inheritance tax planning.

Shona also touches on mediation which offers a neutral, confidential environment for couples to reach agreements, empowering them to make decisions that suit their family.

Non-court dispute resolution methods, such as solicitor negotiations, roundtable meetings, private FDR appointments, and arbitration, provide alternatives to court proceedings, tailored to client needs.
