The Executive Centre, Level 49, One Raffles Quay, North Tower, Singapore 048583

Join us on 25 August 2026 for Under the Spotlight: The Psychology of Witness Performance, a practical session delivered by Assurety, exploring how witnesses respond to the pressures of cross-examination, and how best to support them in delivering evidence effectively.

The session will be led by Assurety's Director Paul Epstein KC and Communications Expert Jane Bardos.

We are joined on the panel remotely by The Rt. Hon. Lord Neuberger of Abbotsbury, former President of the UK Supreme Court, and a judge of the Court of Appeal of Singapore.

Charles Russell Speechlys Partners Gavin Margetson and Henry Winter will be willing volunteers (or at least unwitting victims) of the Assurety team as they explore:

  • How a witness’s personality profile can influence their performance under cross-examination, using a structured psychological profiling tool
  • The mental skills required to give clear, effective evidence, and the techniques commonly used to apply pressure
  • Practical approaches to preparing and supporting witnesses to manage stress and anxiety
  • The physiological impact of cross-examination, illustrated through heart ratemonitoring technology

The event will take place in the One Raffles Quay auditorium, with welcome refreshments at 4.30pm, followed by the session at 5pm, and a drinks reception thereafter. Guests should be able to double up with other Singapore Convention Week events both beforehand and afterwards.

Please feel free to share this invitation with colleagues who may benefit from attending.
