Building Safety Update Seminar

In partnership with the Council on Vertical Urbanism (CVU) UK Chapter, we will be hosting a comprehensive building safety update seminar and panel discussion on Thursday 10th September.

The event will cover all recent legal and regulatory developments in the building safety area, as well as examining the latest data on timelines for Gateway 2 and Gateway 3decisions by the Building Safety Regulator, and experiences of developers looking to build out schemes with a higher risk building component to them.

David Savage, Partner and Head of Construction at Charles Russell Speechlys, will convene a panel of industry experts for a comprehensive discussion on where we have arrived at in the building safety arena, including:

• Developer Director Tom Cazalet, now with Hines, and previously Development Director at Battersea Power Station Development Company.
• Owner and Chief Operating Officer at Cast, Lilly Gallafent. Lily is Cast’s lead on the Building Safety Act, and has been with this leading real estate and construction consultancy since 2016.
• Dr Cristian Maluk, Technical Director of DAMA Engineering Consultants, and a globally respected leading fire engineer. Christian obtained his PhD in fire engineering from Edinburgh University.

The evening will also include a short presentation on the findings of CVU’s recent industry survey on building safety and the new building control regime.
