The Building Safety Act 2022 has fundamentally changed the expectations placed upon the Rental Living Sector regarding higher-risk buildings. The Building Safety Regulator will no longer measure success by compliance alone. Instead, the focus has shifted to competency – the capability of individuals and organisations to understand, apply and evidence the right decisions at every stage of the building lifecycle.
Senior-level sector leaders, including from the Building Safety Regulator, will explain why this shift matters. The discussion will share broad and in-depth practical experience of the new regime, including the building control regime for higher-risk buildings, lessons learned and recent operational changes at the Regulator.
Moderated by Francis Ho, the panel discussion will share broad and in-depth practical experience of the Building Safety Act regime, including the building control regime for higher-risk buildings introduced following the Act and lessons learned.
We also consider the topic of building safety in the context of the Grenfell Tower Phase2 Inquiry Report, the Government’s response and how these affect the Rental Living Sector.
The panel discussion and Q&A will be followed by the Association for Rental Living’s London Christmas Social and Networking Reception.
