Building Safety and the challenges for UK construction - where are we now?

Event Details

When When

Join us at our panel discussion of senior construction, real estate, and policy leaders, chaired by David Savage, head of our Construction, Engineering & Projects Group.

Our discussions will include consideration of the new building control regime arising from the Building Safety Act 2022, and the implementation experience of the industry to date. We will also consider the topic of building safety more broadly in the context of the Grenfell Phase 2 Inquiry Report and the Government’s response to that report, the ambition of the Labour Government to build 1.5m new homes during this Parliament, and the other challenges being faced by UK construction at this time.

Our panellists include:

  • Peter John OBE - Chairman at The Terrapin Group, and former Leader of Southwark Council 2010-20
  • Andreas Vassiliou - Development Director, Vistry
  • Matt Massey - Head of Project Management, Derwent London
  • Amanda Clack - Partner and Regional CEO, HKA and former President of RICS
  • Amy-Jane Farr – Head of Building Safety and Construction Compliance, Workman LLP

We also invite to you read our recently published “look ahead” article, for further insights from our team on what lies ahead in 2025 for Building Safety.
