New EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation: Is Your Business Ready?
min readThe EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (EU PPWR) takes effect on 12 August 2026. It will affect all businesses, both inside and outside the EU, in the supply chain of packaging and packaged goods supplied in the EU.
The PPWR requires Producers of waste packaging to pay fees and collect and report data. It also lays down rules about sustainability, labelling, disposal and recycling covering the entire packaging lifecycle. The ultimate objective is to prevent non-compliant packaging from entering the EU market.
If your business manufactures, imports or distributes packaging or packaged goods in the EU, including direct to consumer sales, now is the time to act.
