min read

The Geneva State Council has announced extraordinary tax measures to ease the financial burden of Geneva taxpayers (private individuals and companies) in relation to the current health crisis.

In summary, the following measures have been decided:

  • No interest from 24 March to 31 December 2020 on tax due during this period
  • Automatic extension of the deadline to file a tax return for individuals and companies to 31 May 2020
  • Automatic extension of the deadline to file the “tax at source rectification questionnaire” and the application of the “quasi-resident status” to 31 May 2020
  • Adjustment or postponement of 2020 tax instalments
