European Commission accepts commitments from Broadcom

The European Commission has accepted commitments from Broadcom to bring to an end the Commission’s investigation under the abuse of dominance rules. Broadcom has agreed to suspend all existing agreements containing exclusivity or quasi-exclusivity arrangements and/or leveraging provisions concerning Systems-on-a-Chip for TV set-top boxes and Internet modems, and not to enter into any new agreements with similar terms. CMA requests referral back of Liberty Global/Telefonica joint venture

The CMA has made a request to the European Commission to refer back the proposed joint venture between Liberty Global plc and Telefónica to merge their UK operating businesses Virgin Media/Virgin Mobile and O2. Click here.
