Delivering an integrated service to support an international family

Through our global network, the Private Office was introduced to a global family entering a period of intergenerational change across family and business assets.

The next generation was taking a fresh look at the family’s portfolio of personal and business interests.

In particular, they were reviewing the future of their UK hotel assets and commercial investments, as well as maximising their private property portfolio, including a substantial rural estate. What began as a discussion around a single piece of advisory work on the rural estate asset morphed into a broader, more strategic discussion once the client appreciated the unique breadth and depth of our offering for private capital clients, coordinated through the relationship lens of the Private Office.

We are delighted to have been engaged as their lead adviser across global mobility, international tax treatment of worldwide assets and family, future planning for ownership and control across a complex mix of assets and equipping their local teams with appropriate legal resource and also best in class third party advisers. The Private Office invested significant time in building a clear picture of the client’s situation and requirements to therefore effect an efficient transition for both client and colleagues, to the point of providing clear advice on prioritising the most pressing and material matters.

Our client selected us because we could deliver against their complex and wide-ranging requirements through one streamlined team – rather than simply looking at each element in isolation. We offered a market leading approach to relationship management, deep and varied legal expertise, and a laser-like focus on supporting their commercial aims. The time invested in them - free of charge – drove a dynamic, rounded and client centric experience and a relationship we look forward to supporting for generations to come.
