People & HR Services

HR teams face an increasingly complex legal and regulatory environment, as they look to introduce and maintain structures to promote a workplace environment where employees can thrive.

We take the time to understand the current issues that your HR teams face. We can work with your HR team in four key areas or ‘pillars’ through which the HR function can help your business to address these issues and move forward. Senior People & HR Consultant Jim Richardson leads a team of experts across the four key pillars working alongside our employment team. Together they can provide you with a broad range of sectors with a holistic model offering core people and employee-related workplace solutions.

1. Redundancy and Restructuring

We can project manage and plan collective consultation processes including advice on the election of employee reps, how to run fair selection processes and how to handle interviews for alternative roles. We will also advise you on job evaluations and forward planning for the restructuring of roles, locations and remuneration packages. As part of our service we can assist you with internal and external communication plans.

2. Culture

Our strategic advice will help you to create positive action and plans to increase the diversity of talent across your workforce and organisation. We can advise you on the full range of reward strategies and regulations including equal pay audits, pension scheme closures, employee benefits, reward frameworks and variable compensation strategies In addition to advising on diversity and reward strategies we can assist you in developing well-being and resilience building policies and leadership development training.

3. Talent retention and acquisition

Retaining and motivating talented employees is a key pillar of HR strategy for all successful and growing businesses. Our team can advise you on how to reduce hiring costs and retain talent. We also advise on pre-employment screening and assessments, approaches to benchmarking employees and talent attraction strategies.

4. Special projects

Changes in legislation and regulation can create rapidly changing priorities for HR teams. We can assist you on one-off projects covering areas such as investigations and audits (National Minimum Wage, equal pay, gender pay gap reporting and IR35 assessments/ reviews) and disciplinary and grievance matters such as fraud or whistleblowing. Our team also has extensive expertise in helping to negotiate senior executive exits and running internal mediations.

Following the introduction of a wide range of employment policies to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic we can also advise you on the process by which staff are furloughed and how applications to the scheme can be reviewed.
