Workplace Reasonable Adjustments Statement
As a Firm, we are committed to providing an inclusive environment where candidates, clients and visitors are supported and welcomed when attending our offices or liaising with our people.
If you are a candidate applying for a role at the Firm and would like to discuss any adjustments that might assist you during the application and interview process, then please contact either our Early Talent Team (for training contract, placement scheme, solicitor apprenticeship or any other early talent programme) or our Recruitment Team (for any other role).
Examples of adjustments we can make to the application or recruitment assessment process include, but are not limited to:
- Providing documents in large print or accessible formats
- Allowing additional time for tasks that form part of the assessment process
- Ensuring the interview location is accessible
- Any other support you may need relating to a disability or health condition.
This is a non-exhaustive list, and other adjustments may be appropriate depending on the circumstances.
If you are a client or visitor and would like to discuss any adjustments that might assist you when attending our office, or accessing our services more widely, then please discuss with your contact at the Firm.
If you are attending our office and would need assistance to evacuate the building in the event of an emergency, please notify your contact at the Firm, who will be able to liaise with Health & Safety.
Disclosure & Confidentiality
We understand that telling us about a disability or condition can be challenging. However, unless we know or ought reasonably to know that someone has a disability and is likely to be placed at a substantial disadvantage because of their disability or condition, the duty to make reasonable adjustments does not arise and, in practice, the candidate may miss out on support that could otherwise help them.
As information shared regarding their disability, health condition, or personal circumstances is particularly sensitive, the Firm will handle such information with the utmost care and always in accordance with our duties under applicable data protection law.
We will take all reasonable steps to keep such information strictly confidential within the Firm and it will not be shared to third parties unless this is necessary to comply with our obligations as an employer, for safeguarding reasons or without prior consent.
Any requests will be treated positively and sensitively in line with our commitment, and no detriment, harassment or unfavourable treatment will result as a consequence of a candidate, client or visitor bringing any adjustment matters to the attention of the Firm.
