    Meet our people

Laurence Whymark, Associate

I have been at the Firm since 2017, qualifying in 2023 having completed a Solicitor Apprenticeship, and I am now an Associate in the Corporate team, advising both individuals and multinational corporations on corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, and general corporate compliance and advisory matters. My day-to-day tasks include liaising with clients in relation to due diligence, drafting and negotiating key transaction documents, supervising Trainees and attending business development and networking events. Outside of work, I enjoy going to the gym, playing football, and good coffee shops!

Morning Afternoon Evening
  • A gym session followed by cup of coffee on arrival at the office to kick-start my morning
  • Emailing clients with updates on their matters that have arisen overnight and following up on responses with national and international specialist advisors on key transaction matters
  • Meeting with colleagues that I am working with to discuss key action points on the transactions we are working on
  • Drafting transaction documentation required in order for our client to buy (or sell) shares in a company
  • Virtual meetings with clients to take instructions on key commercial negotiation points
  • Discussions with specialist advisors, for example Tax, in relation to the corporate structuring and due diligence
  • Ensuring that all urgent client matters have been dealt with
  • Following up with colleagues to ensure that they are sufficiently supported and have all necessary information in order to carry out the tasks required
  • Grocery shopping unless I can’t resist the temptation for a takeaway
  • Dinner and some TV to switch off before going to bed

Culture

The culture at the Firm is second to none, not only are we colleagues, but we treat each other with genuine respect and, in a number of cases, become close friends. This enables us to work more efficiently, be able to understand and respect different points of view and provide the best possible service to our clients. We operate at the intersection of private capital and international business, offering clients with a multitude of services across a number of different sectors, whilst simultaneously building long-term successful and personable relationships.
