Yes, you will be on course for, a 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent) for their undergraduate course.

Applications for our 2026 cohort will open on 1 September 2025, and close at short notice on a rolling basis during the Autumn.
Applications for our 2026 Placement Scheme (and 2028 Training Contract cohort) will open on 1 September 2025 and close at midday (UK time) on 2 January 2025.

For our placement schemes, w Please don’t rush your application as you’ll want to spend time researching the firm and considering your answers. However, please do ensure you submit your application well in advance of the deadline to account for any issues. If you have any questions, please let us know.
This year, we are also recruiting for a 2026 training contract place so this will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Please get your applications in as soon as you can.

Yes, we will recruit for our 2028 training contract from our placement scheme in June/July 2026. Our 2026 training contract places will not require a placement scheme.

We recruit 1-2 trainees each year.

Yes, we are keen to support all our candidates and there is space in our application form for you to note any support or adjustments you may require throughout the process and upon starting at the firm. We are also happy to discuss your requirements on the phone or via email.
A common adjustment many candidates request is extra time in assessments for individuals who have dyslexia for example.
There are a number of software and training options available that we can provide to offer additional support depending on your requirements. We regularly make adjustments to assist individuals who have dyslexia, ADHD, sight, hearing or physical disabilities, and adjustments have been made to the systems we use, or additional equipment provided, depending on the individual’s circumstances.

Yes, we offer the opportunity to do a an international secondment to our London office in your 2nd or 3rd seat.

We encourage our trainees to complete a well-rounded training contract, and as part of this, trainees are required to complete a contentious seat.
During my training, will I work for one partner in each seat or with a variety of partners?
During my training, will I work for one partner in each seat or with a variety of partners?
In order to experience a mix of work and supervisory styles, you will work with a range of partners and solicitors in each seat. While you will have one designated supervisor, you’ll be assigned work from the whole team.
How will I be assessed during my training contract?
How will I be assessed during my training contract?
Each seat will see you allocated a partner or solicitor to oversee your on-the-job training and supervise you day-to-day. This supervisor is then responsible for your mid- and end-of seat performance reviews. You’ll receive feedback as you go along throughout the seat and then use the mid and end of seat reviews as a time to reflect on your learnings and set goals for the next 3 to 6 months.

During your induction week, you’ll receive general training from different business areas, our legal research and knowledge team, and from our IT team. From week 2, you’ll start working in your first designated practice area with support from your wider team who will give you practice area specific training designed to get you started in your seats.
Your legal training will also be supplemented by our CRS Business School which has specific development programmes for each stage of your career.
