Current Roles

Private Wealth Disputes Associate

The Division:

The PWD team is led by Graeme Kleiner, supported by two Partners and eleven specialist Fee Earners spread across the London and Guildford offices.  The team acts for individual and company trustees, beneficiaries and charities, as well as other fiduciaries such as executors, protectors, attorneys and deputies. Covering a full range of complex private trust and estate disputes including hostile litigation, administration actions and trust issues on divorce. It is an exciting opportunity to join one of the country’s leading practices dealing with contentious Court of Protection proceedings relating to unauthorised gifts and capacity issues.

The team also forms part of our wider private wealth practice allowing us to deliver a multi-faceted client service, particularly in the areas of private client and family law, and we work with our specialist pension team with contentious pension trust aspects frequently involving rectification and representative beneficiary work.

The Role:

The role will cover a wide range of disputes; advising on the recovery of assets, injunction and enforcement proceedings in commercial and fraud cases involving trusts, foundations, and corporate structures. A large proportion of our work is offshore and international, ranging from multi-jurisdictional trust disputes to probate disputes for individuals with assets in multiple jurisdictions. We have a wealth of experience in most offshore jurisdictions, including Jersey, Guernsey, Bermuda, BVI, the Bahamas, Isle of Man and Cayman, as well as in litigation across the globe.

This is a role with considerable client contact, a large amount of responsibility and experience of a wide variety of disputes, often involving complex international subject matters.
