About

Lara is a Legal Director with over 20 years’ of experience in private and in-house practice. Lara is a high level strategic commercial lawyer and her main areas of expertise are Media and Entertainment, Intellectual Property and Technology. Lara has been based in Dubai since 1999 and has in-depth knowledge and understanding of the laws and business practices in the region. Lara has worked for leading international and regional firms in the UAE as well as having co-founded boutique TMT and Intellectual Property firm The Rights Lawyers in Dubai. Lara has extensive experience providing practical legal and commercial advice on a wide variety of matters including all aspects of protection and enforcement of intellectual property, with particular focus on portfolio management and brand custodianship, joint ventures, commercial agreements, and related disputes and litigation. Her client base is very broad and includes entertainment and media companies, large retail groups and sovereign wealth funds.

Lara has been featured in numerous publications including Managing Intellectual Property, Communicate, Campaign and Gulf News, on topics ranging from doing business in the UAE, to intellectual property, contracts and negotiations. She is fluent in English, Arabic and French.

Having worked both in private practice and in-house, Lara has a very real understanding of how to identify and deliver on what her clients need.
