Charlotte advises on a broad range of private client matters including Wills, trusts, tax planning, succession planning and lasting powers of attorney. Charlotte takes a particular interest in advising business owners and owners of rural estates on both lifetime and post-death tax and succession planning.

Charlotte regularly assists clients with putting in place lasting powers of attorney, as well as dealing with cases where the capacity of the donor is in doubt.

Charlotte is admitted to practise in England and Wales.

Experience

  • Advising a family with agricultural land on the availability of IHT business property relief and agricultural property relief and how to structure their affairs to secure the reliefs.
  • Advising on, and implementing, a pre-sale planning exercise for an agricultural estate with a view to maximising the tax reliefs and succession planning opportunities available in relation to selling part of the estate for development.
  • Advising attorneys on the implications of fluctuating mental capacity and making gifts for tax planning purposes.
  • Analysing and advising on the domicile of a successful business owner in the context of tax planning for the potential sale of his business.
