Alice advises a wide range of UK domiciled and foreign domiciled individuals, both UK resident and non-UK resident, in relation to UK tax matters and their personal estate planning affairs.
She also advises offshore trustees, private banks and family offices on a wide variety of matters including UK tax issues, trust administration and on semi-contentious trust matters.
Alice is admitted to practise in England and Wales.
- Advising a non-UK domiciled client on pre-immigration tax planning, including the application of the statutory residence test and how to structure their banking and investment arrangements to maximise the benefit of the remittance basis of taxation
- Advising non-UK domiciled clients in relation to the UK tax regime applicable to high-value UK residential property following the Finance Act 2013 and options for restructuring existing property holding structures and how best to structure the acquisition of new properties
- Advising a non-UK domiciled client with assets in a number of jurisdictions on their succession planning arrangements (including the implications of ‘Brussels IV’), drawing together advice obtained from the applicable foreign lawyers, in order to ensure as far as possible the formal and substantive validity of their Will arrangements and that all assets are covered
- Advising a UK resident non-UK domiciled international sportsman on the UK tax treatment of their offshore holding structure for their image rights
