Syma advises employers and individuals on all matters arising from the employment relationship.
This includes dealing with disciplinary and grievance procedures, drafting and enforcing terms of employment contracts (particularly relating to restrictive covenants and confidential information), managing sickness absence and conducting redundancy processes.
She negotiates and settles complex employment disputes, including managing the exit of senior employees, and provides commercially-focussed advice to businesses across a diverse variety of sectors.
Syma has experience in handling employment tribunal claims relating to a wide range of issues, including unfair dismissal, discrimination and whistleblowing.
She has represented clients through to hearings at employment tribunals and the Employment Appeal Tribunal.
In addition to her advisory role, Syma writes articles for online and national publications on topical employment law issues.
She regularly speaks at external seminars, including the firm’s Managing People series, which gives practical employment law advice to employers and HR professionals.
Syma is admitted to practise in England and Wales.
