Francis’s legal practice involves advising commodity trading firms, private equity firms, financial institutions and family offices on their international structures and acquisitions, oil & gas projects as well as tax and trust planning, as well as families, shareholders and financial intermediaries (trust companies and banks), with a particular focus on advising on bilateral investment and tax treaty structuring, global tax minimisation, and asset protection (expropriation) aspects.
In recent years, his practice has focused on international corporate/oil and gas structuring, M&A and private equity investments involving public and private companies and their shareholders, as well as advising executives and families respecting their international assets.
His clients include commodity trading and private equity firms, whether part of family offices or entrepreneurs' core investments.
Francis has extensive experience in structuring investment and operations in Latin America, the Middle East and Asia.
He has also been active in advising clients on issues related to the use of international holding company structures and continues to provide strategic input to private banks, trust companies and family offices globally.
Francis is a regular speaker at conferences and regular contributor to various legal and media publications
Francis is registered as a foreign lawyer with the Law Society of England and Wales and the Ordre des Avocats de Geneva. He is also admitted to practice in Quebec, Canada.
