Laura advises in relation to both contentious and non-contentious matters in the construction and engineering industry.
She has experience of advising on a range of construction documents and negotiating terms from the perspective of the employer, contractor and sub-contractor and consultant and has experience of a variety of forms of dispute resolution including mediation, adjudication and litigation.
Laura has spent 3 months on secondment to the legal department of a global engineering company advising the infrastructure division in relation to contracts (including NEC3 PSC), framework agreements, collateral warranties and confidentiality agreements.
Prior to a career in law, Laura spent 15 years in IT, the latter seven years as a project manager on new build and refurbished free schools, academies and schools under the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) initiative.
Laura is admitted to practise in England and Wales
- Advising and negotiating on behalf of a local school in connection with the construction of a planetarium, including appointment of the professional team and JCT contract.
- Acting for high end residential developer in relation to repudiatory breach of contract and subsequent termination of contract.
- Acting for various contractors and sub-contractors in connection with payment disputes.
