Sophie Langley-Evans




Sophie is a transactional lawyer working on a broad range of corporate work including private company mergers and acquisitions, private equity work and public company admissions to the UK markets.


Sophie has worked on a number of transactions including the sale of the majority shareholder’s stake in Bolton Wanderers Football Club and the £42 million sale of the Oxford city centre property development Oxford Castle, including the site of the Malmaison Hotel, by the Trevor Osborne Property Group. She also recently worked on the acquisition of Norfolk brewery and beer brand, Woodforde’s Norfolk Ales, by a private consortium of investors.

Background & education

Sophie joined Charles Russell Speechlys from Linklaters LLP where she trained.

Prior to joining the firm, Sophie also completed a corporate secondment in the M&A Advisory legal team of Barclays Investment Banking Division, working on both public and private M&A transactions.

She obtained her degree in Spanish and Italian (with an oral distinction in Spanish) from Bristol University in 2011. She went on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Law and the Linklaters Firm Specific Legal Practice Course, at the University of Law, London Moorgate.

Sophie is admitted to practise in England and Wales.
