Kate O’Rourke named in Top 250 Women in IP Worldwide list

4 May 2016

Congratulations to Kate O’Rourke MBE who has been included in Managing Intellectual Property magazine’s prestigious IP Stars list of the Top 250 Women in IP.

Recently elected as the President of the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys, Kate will grace the distinguished list, published on 3 May 2016.

The index is "dedicated to the recognition of accomplished female IP practitioners". Traditionally focused on the United States, this year it has become more internationally orientated to take into consideration female IP practitioners from across the globe.

The research behind the index took four months to complete and included surveys and interviews. The list includes practitioners from all major areas of IP legal work including trade mark, patent and copyright litigation, prosecution and portfolio management and advice as well as trade secret litigation.

Reflecting on the 2016 Top 250 Women in IP index, the Managing Intellectual Property magazine stated: “Women represent some of the most talented and experienced legal practitioners in the world, and their contributions to the field of IP rights can be seen in their part in securing leading judgments throughout the globe.”

“This list attempts to recognise contributions such as these and to give these capable practitioners the acknowledgement they deserve.”
