Charles Russell Speechlys expands with new Swiss law services and senior hires
1 June 2016
Charles Russell Speechlys has expanded its practice in Switzerland by appointing three Swiss-qualified partners to its Geneva office.
This forms part of a move by the firm to provide a distinctive offering in Switzerland for integrated English and Swiss legal advice to the Swiss private wealth market.
Alongside private client and tax advice, the firm will also be able to handle Swiss commercial transactions and disputes. This is aimed at supporting individuals, families and their businesses as well as private banks, trust companies and other service providers in the private wealth market.
Olivier Cavadini joins from Python & Peter, having practised in Geneva for more than 15 years, and specialises in commercial and corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, financial services (with in-house experience having worked at Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch & Cie) and immigration.
Bruno Ledrappier joins from Borel & Barbey and has spent the past two decades working in Geneva on litigation in civil and criminal law, with a particular focus on asset tracing, fraud and international judicial assistance. Bruno represents clients before the Swiss courts including the Swiss Supreme Court and the Swiss Chamber of International Arbitration.
Grégoire Uldry also joins from Borel & Barbey, having spent the past 16 years practicing in Geneva. Grégoire’s areas of specialism include international relocation, cross-border wealth and estate planning, philanthropy and commercial law for family-owned businesses.
James Carter, Managing Partner at Charles Russell Speechlys, said:
“I’m delighted to welcome our three new Swiss partners to the partnership. Olivier, Bruno and Grégoire have extensive experience advising clients in the private wealth sector.”
“In this increasingly regulated world the need for integrated multi-disciplinary advice has never been more pressing. Many of our clients ask us for multi-national legal advice, including in Switzerland, and the expansion of our offering in Switzerland will further strengthen the range of legal services we are able to provide to complement our English and international law practice.”
