Charles Russell Speechlys’ private equity team has advised Beer and Real Ale specialists Citra Partners on its investment, alongside an investor consortium, in the award-winning brewery, Woodforde’s.

Founded in 1981, Woodforde’s is the largest brewery in Norfolk and is most well-known for its Champion Beer of Britain “Wherry”. James Hughes and Nick Dolan of Citra Partners will join the board of Woodforde's.

Commenting on the transaction, Richard Coleman, Senior Associate at Charles Russell Speechlys said:

James Hughes, the new CEO of Woodforde’s said:

“Charles Russell Speechlys played an instrumental role in the successful purchase of the Woodforde’s brewery. Richard, Malcolm and Sophie were extremely supportive and have been a key partner with us throughout the whole transaction process.
