Charles Russell Speechlys advises Tony Rice, the ex-CEO of Cable & Wireless, on his investment in Shields Environmental

Charles Russell Speechlys has acted as the legal adviser to Tony Rice, the ex-CEO of Cable & Wireless on his investment in Shields Environmental, the rapidly expanding telecoms managed services provider.
The investment was to back the company’s expanding services business. Senior management also invested in the company as part of the transaction.
For over 35 years Shields have been the world leaders in optimising network assets for telecoms operators across the globe. Shields help turn cost centres into revenue streams and, as a result, Shields have enabled their clients to manage their networks with the maximum financial efficiency and care for the environment.
Tony Rice stated:
“I’m delighted to become Chairman of Shields and to be investing in a business that has a product range and capability that can provide operators with a unique, end to end capability ranging from spares management and inventory dimensioning right through to asset management and software. We are well placed to work with telecom operators to improve their network and cost efficiency in markets, most of which are fully penetrated and mature."
