Unkar Chanian and Reem Al Mahroos from the Bahrain office delivered an important and timely presentation at the Annual International conference “Together Towards Tomorrow” organised by the Bahrain Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (BCICAI).

The packed auditorium of c 300 people at the Radisson Diplomat Hotel in Manama were taken through the main provisions of the new Lease and Development Laws which are due to be implemented in February 2015. Whilst there is still much to conclude in the detail of these new laws, the audience were able to get early analysis of what they will mean for investors, developers, building operators and tenants alike.

Commenting on the event, Unkar and Reem said ‘ This new legislation comes at an important time for Bahrain and is designed to help stimulate activity and protect investors/ developers of this important asset class’.

Saturday’s event followed a recent seminar the team delivered at the Capital Club and since then, there has been significant interest from the Real Estate market in Bahrain resulting in a several meetings scheduled with key stakeholders on landmark projects over the coming weeks.

In recognition of their contributions as speakers, both Reem and Unkar were presented with commemorative plaques from the BCICAI.
