1 January 2014

This article was written prior to the formation of Charles Russell Speechlys, through the merger between Charles Russell and Speechly Bircham.

Thibaut Caharel joined Speechly Bircham's Paris office on 1 January 2014 from PDGB Avocats. The Paris team now consists of four partners and seven associates, focusing on tax planning for wealthy families and entrepreneurs as well as corporate and litigation services to these clients, private equity investors and corporates. Thibaut will head the corporate & commercial team in Paris and joins with an extensive background in corporate finance law, alongside a DESS DJCE in business law and taxation and a master's degree in private law.

Thibaut joins a partner team comprising Stéphane de Lassus and Anne-Marie Berthault-Boissonnas. who specialise in international tax planning for wealthy families, entrepreneurs and management teams, and commercial litigator Frédéric Jeannin, all formerly with STC Partners.  His arrival completes the initial partner team for the office.

Thibaut commented, "I am delighted to join Speechly Bircham. The firm's increasing international focus, and the opportunities and synergies I have with my partners in Paris, provide an exciting platform for the future. I am also very much looking forward to working alongside the partners in our London and Luxembourg offices where we have strong international teams for corporate and private equity work."

Speechlys' growing French presence is supported by London corporate partners Martin Wright (who has significant expertise acting for French corporates in the UK and elsewhere), Nathalie Moreno (a dual qualified TMT partner who has recently been appointed as representative of the Paris Bar in London), and Paul Henty, who specialises in EU & Competition law.
