Wealth Matters Summer 2015

Welcome to the Summer 2015 edition of Wealth Matters, our regular publication for our UK-based private clients.

This edition is the first as Charles Russell Speechlys, following the merger of Charles Russell and Speechly Bircham on 1 November 2014.

Through Wealth Matters, we seek to keep you informed on a range of opportunities and developments which may be of interest to you in preserving and passing on your wealth, now and in the future.

In this edition, we outline the Government's plans to increase the Inheritance Tax nil rate band through the introduction of an additional 'residence' band, as well as its plans to change the current rules relating to pilot trusts.

We also consider how you can make the most of post-death variations before possible changes are made to the legislation and what action may be required for individuals with European assets under the new EU succession regulation.

Finally, we look at one of 2015's highest profile family law cases.
