Pension chaos arising from poor historical pension documentation

Two cases from April 2014, the Honda Motor Europe Ltd case and the Gleeds case, show the pitfalls of having poor historical pensions documentation.

This has resulted in windfalls for some members, no pension membership for others, and increased pension liabilities  for the schemes (and so for the schemes' sponsoring employers) of approximately £45 million in each case.
