Building Blocks - July 2014

19 July 2014

Welcome to the Summer 2014 edition of "Building Blocks", the quarterly construction and engineering law update from Charles Russell Speechlys' Construction, Engineering & Projects team.

In the last year, we have had a number of new editions to our specialist team, now 12 people strong.

New arrivals include Fiona Thompson, who joined us from Ashurst LLP at the beginning of the year as a Senior Associate specialising in non-contentious construction law and, more recently in May, Kayleigh Rhodes who joined us from BLM (formerly Berrymans) as an Associate specialising in construction dispute resolution and litigation.

Our Summer 2014 Construction Law Seminars held in our offices in Guildford, Cheltenham and London were a great success with nearly 200 people attending in total. We have also had some very interesting judicial decisions in recent months, as discussed in the Case Law Update paper.

I hope to see many of you in the autumn at our Construction Law Workshops to be held in Guildford, Cheltenham and London. These workshops will include further brain teasers intended to illustrate some of the traps for the unwary highlighted by recent judicial decisions.

Finally, I am excited to say that on Monday 11 August the Guildford office of Charles Russell Speechlys (including the Construction, Engineering & Projects team) will be moving to new larger premises at One London Square, Cross Lanes, Guildford, Surrey GU1 1UN.

We look forward to welcoming many clients and contacts of the team to the new office shortly.
